RbA plans a new on-line camera club for the over 50s
The three key questions

..how does a passport photo differ from a portrait?
..when you photograph your holiday scenery is it a landscape or a snap?
..how do I get the best results from a limited budget?
Now that we've more time to spend getting things right where do we start?

Perhaps.. a passport photo shows us what your sitter looks like but a portrait tells us who he is. |

Photography sits on the cusp of art and science, and as digitals have solved most of the science, we at RbA want to focus on the art.
Starting Out
As our starting point we plan
- Two sections which build into books over the weeks and months on
- Starting out Afresh with your Camera for those who've never done more than 'snap' their pictures
- Serious Photography for the more serious hobbyist.
- A Camera Club on RaA where virtually anyone can post their thoughts and material with
- a dedicated 'interest group'
- A gallery of member pictures
- Blogs and forums
- A chat room where photographers all over the world can exchange notes
Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter.
Oscar Wilde (1854 - 1900)
And we need your help to set it up
You can
- Get involved with our Camera Group
- An informal exchange of experiences, comments and information just for camera enthusiasts in our over 50 age group.
- Post pictures to our galleries?
- Your pictures will be watermarked to protect your rights, and members can comment or even buy them from you
- Provide hints and advice to other members via our pages?
- We're always looking for writers with knowledge and experience to help others
- Contribute your thoughts to our blogs and forums?
- Blogs and forums need to be constantly refreshed with new ideas and comments
- or perhaps even Edit the section or parts of the section?
It's all very straight forward
Editors need little more than their experience and knowledge and we can teach you the minor IT skills that you need for this.
You don't need particular IT skills or additional soft or hardware though if you have any of these, or would like to learn them, you are more than welcome to use them.
